3D Fiber Engineering was founded in 2017 by John Hunt.

John Hunt is an accomplished Senior Executive Consultant and Thought Leader with 40 years of success conducting research and development activities on various topics within wood, paper, pulping, pulp molding, recycling, sustainability, agri-fiber processing, fiber composites, plywood, veneer, OSB, MDF, fiberboard, and hardboard industries. Leveraging extensive experience in process and product optimization, he is a valuable advisor for an organization seeking guidance on understanding a products performance and optimization through understanding the material properties and how they are modified through material processing, shape or configuration, and environmental impact (humidity and temperature). He is a valuable adviser for an organization seeking guidance on wood and fiber product analyses. His broad areas of expertise include product development, sustainability, recycling, circle economy, process optimization, patent review and background analyses, and product testing and material properties analyses.

Throughout his executive career, John has held leadership positions with the USDA, Forest Products Laboratory, and 3D Fiber Engineering, LLC.
